Flow with the shifting energies of the seasons in this 8 class Qigong series.

Qigong was developed in China thousands of years ago, as a mind and body energy practice to strengthen natural resilience, balance the nervous system and transform worry, anxiety and fear into inner strength.

The first four classes will delve into the Water Element, focusing on the Kidney System and its connection to winter’s rest, renewal, and introspection.

The first four classes of the series will delve into the Water Element, focusing on the Kidney System and its connection to winter’s rest, renewal, and introspection. Water’s persistence and endless innovation form the foundation of willpower and motivation housed in the Kidneys.

The final four classes will transition to the dynamic energy of the Wood Element, embracing spring’s expansive growth. These sessions will focus on the Liver System, highlighting its role as a spiritual and strategic guide for dreaming, planning, and renewal. Wood Energy, strong yet supple, teaches the power of flexibility and adaptability.

Classes include breath-work, gentle, fluid movements, sound therapy and self-massage techniques designed to purge stagnation and circulate energy to nourish, replenish, invigorate and balance the systems of the body. 

RACHEL ROCCO

Rachel was introduced to Qigong in 2016. Driven by a fascination and curiosity to deepen her knowledge and understanding of this profound practice she began studying with Empty Mountain Institute, completing the Medical Qigong Therapist program. Rachel’s journey with Qigong has not only transformed her life but allowed her to align her values and beliefs with a practice that encompasses healing, interconnectedness, and a deep reverence for the natural world. Through classes, energy treatments, and personalized programs, Rachel actively guides individuals in cultivating their innate healing abilities, empowering them to awaken their own inner healers. A retired arts administrator and fundraiser, she currently reside’s alongside her long-time partner in East Vancouver, BC and is working towards meeting the requirements for my Master of Medical Qigong certification.
